George has arrived at the gate

We're at the gate and the flight's delayed an hour. Sheila's taking pix of George (to be posted later). We're sitting by O'Brian's Pub where we'll probably end up eating. Fitting, given what day it is.

UPDATE: We got to Rome this morning pretty much on time and were met by our friend Richard. Our flight was uneventful except that our seats were right under one of the TV monitors, which meant an uncomfortable night of glaring flashing light. But we took a nap after we arrived and after lunch we plan to walk over to St Peter's.
